Chicago Anarchist Black Cross
Solidarity Is Our Weapon Against Repression
Categories: General
Through occupations, marches, and direct action, the people are rising up and taking bold and imaginative action to escalate the disruption against the genocide in Palestine. The system is responding with the full repressive apparatus, pushing copaganda and counterinsurgency while militarized IOF-trained police attack crowds with physical brutality and mass arrests.

Chicago Anarchist Black Cross supports all those arrested during these historic waves of resistance against the genocide in Palestine. We reject the state’s false distinctions between “good” and “bad” protesters: regardless of sectarian divisions or disagreement on tactics, solidarity necessitates we must condemn the police response and stand with all those facing charges. The violence and repression that has spilled out needs to be condemned, full stop. All captives held hostage by the state deserve unequivocal support no matter their actions. Arrest and injury manifests the same whether provoked or not.

From Turtle Island to Palestine: tear down the colonizer’s prisons, and FREE THEM ALL!

We are sharing some resources we found helpful in navigating repression and arrest, hoping that by demystifying their legal systems, we may dispell our fears and inhibitions, becoming fully prepared to take smarter and bolder action.

🚨THE PEOPLES’ ART INSTITUTE ENCAMPMENT RECAP 🚨

Thank you for your patience as our organizing team has taken the past 24hrs to care for one another following the violence and suffering perpetuated against arrested and injured students and comrades by CPD. Following considerable news coverage with inaccurate detailing of yesterday’s raid, we want to make clear that this is the only official statement from PAI and its organizers.

The goals of the encampment were clear: to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people , demand SAIC and AIC divest from entities profiting off of the occupation and genocide in Palestine, starting with cutting ties with the Crown Family’s weapons manufacturing money.

Leadership at SAIC and AIC have since released statements claiming they acted against us in the name of safety with no mention of the reasons for our encampment. To be clear, at NO POINT did our negotiating liaisons reject an offer from the administration. They only requested changes to be considered.

We want to emphasize that as the AIC sent SWAT forces to brutalize protestors taking a stand for Palestine, people in Rafah are currently being bombed by Israel while also receiving evacuation orders that threaten an imminent, lethal attack. We greatly appreciate those who contributed to jail support with their presence and monetary donations. It enabled us to greet our arrested community members with care, and we now ask that you redirect that care directly to those in Gaza by donating to evacuation aid @operationolivebranch

🇵🇸Long Live The People’s Art Institute. This is only the beginning. 🇵🇸
